Skins is a british serie about a bunch of friends who take drugs and drinks and drama. :) Its really good if you are into that kind of serie. This song is in Generation 3 Season 5-6 Its in the trailer and the menu of skins season 5.
I found a stream but it looks like the 'American' version and it's filmed in Toronto because I recognize the neighborhoods in it, but I'm pretty sure this version will suck...is it on Netflix by any chance? Cheers!
its on netflix. I will say that if you dont like the first episodes you have to give it like 1-4 episodes. I didnt like it iether in the start but now Skins is my life. lol if you like more action you should watch Skins gen 2. Its seaon 3-4 :) Gen 1 is really old but it was filmed in 2006 or 2008 can't remember. oh and also most of the music that is in it is so shit but just ignore that. the first episodes are always shit. But its gets better :) but Gen 2 is more rough than the first one. Gen 3 (season 5-6) is really different but its still good. but just give it a try give it a few episodes :D
So my thoughts on this song is that it's really about the US government/Military, ending the Vietnam War, the death of the peace movement and the Iraq war (all of the walls and houses built in the 70's finally fall). Like being a kid and as you grow up your idealism slowly gets replaced (sometimes I can't believe it I'm moving past the feeling i.e. Americans objection to war). The fear of war is why he wants to have child while he's still young and why he prefers a girl. It's basically about his sadness over the state of the world
Its not literally about a war it's about the rich areas of the town the middle class (aka the suburbs) and the poor and how the rich want nothing to do with the poor because of that the poor hate the rich and the suburbs are the mix and stuck in the middle. something like that i think anyway. I showed my mother this song and she loves this song so much and now the band. that's what she told me it was about.
